Bridges for Missing Teeth
Perhaps the most popular method of filling an empty space where a tooth used to be is the bridge technique. If there is an empty space between two teeth, a bridge can be used to fill up that space. Usually a bridge consists of 3 teeth: two crowns and the middle tooth. The crowns on either side of the tooth are connected to that tooth, giving the appearance of 3 separate teeth, but in actuality, linked to one another.
Most dentists recommend filling empty spaces because they can cause problems later on. An empty space may cause the rest of the teeth to drift, which can cause chewing problems, a sore jaw, or even leave you susceptible to certain diseases. Therefore, if you have empty spaces in your mouth, it is imperative that you consult a cosmetic dentist and ask for more information regarding empty spaces. |
